Better Balance Massage Therapy

Our practice is dedicated to improving YOUR wellbeing

A message from Alana Hamelin, RMT & Owner of BBMT:

Re. COVID-19

(on Thursday, March 19, 2020)

We are sad to announce that Better Balance Massage Therapy is now officially TEMPORARILY CLOSED for the next 2 weeks. We will update you when we will be accepting bookings.

We previously notified you that Better Balance Massage Therapy was asking clients to consider the necessity of your upcoming appointment/treatment.  As per the recommendation of our governing college, the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), they have advised that we suspend all "non-essential treatments" until further notice... And for the safety of your health and ours, BOTH Alana & Tanja, have decided to stop seeing clients at this time. TOGETHER, as always, have your best interest in mind and are happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Similar to other health and wellness businesses, we are encourage you to VISIT our FACEBOOK page to see our regular posts on SELF-CARE, fitness/exercise and nutritional tips etc. (Alana recently did a 30 day fitness challenge in January with lots of different suggestions, so please have a look!).

We hope to return to treating clients Wed April 1st, 2020, pending further guidance from the CMTO, MOH and government.

We appreciate your co-operation and we hope you are all well and are safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How to protect yourself & others:

Please take social distancing & self-isolation seriously at this time. Proactive measures taken by our global community will most likely have a significant positive impact on the health and safety of EVERYONE going forward.

Coronaviruses are spread mainly from person to person through close contact, for example, in a household, workplace or health care centre.

There is no vaccine available to protect against the 2019 novel coronavirus.

There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses. Take these everyday steps to reduce exposure to the virus and protect your health:

wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
sneeze and cough into your sleeve
avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
avoid contact with people who are sick
stay home if you are sick

**Proactive measures to ensure the prevention of any further transmission of the COVID-19 virus & to assist you in seeking care, if needed, are as follows:

If you have a FEVER and/or new onset of cough or difficulty breathing, AND in the 14 days before symptom onset, you have:

been to a COVID-19 impacted area, or
you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, or
you have been in close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has been to a COVID-19 impacts area:

Contact your primary health care provider, & self-isolate until you are cleared

BUT if your symptoms are more severe --> Report immediately to a hospital near you.

Contact Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000 or your local public health unit if you’re experiencing symptoms of the 2019 novel coronavirus.

Do not call 911 unless it is an emergency.
